Creator of ‘The Social House JA’, Tara Playfair-Scott, is beaming about the production’s recent success. Currently in its second season, the YouTube reality series has garnered five million views, 100,000 subscribers, and it hit an all-time high of over 10,017 live viewers for its fifth episode, all in the same week.

“We are thrilled to be in season two of the show and to see the growth, and of course, the success of the series. We’re looking forward to continuing to bring fresh and exciting content to our audience,” Playfair-Scott told The Gleaner.

“It has become more than just a YouTube series. We are celebrating Jamaican culture, diversity, and creativity,” the show creator added.

Hosted by Rushane ‘Rush Cam’ Campbell, ‘The Social House JA’ features returning resident and popular influencer Quite Perry, recording artiste Rebel, travel influencer Ton Travels, as well as digital content creators Yaadman Etan, Lee Not Nice, and Chad Luchey. They all live under one roof – the R Hotel in Kingston. In the latest episode, the cast members were given the ‘Bigga Music Challenge’, but while her peers prepared to be judged by dancehall entertainer Marcy Chin and producer Skatta Burrell, Rebel requested to be excused.

‘The Social House JA’ really heated up in the fifth episode. As the other cast members prepared their freestyle lyrics inside of Downsound Entertainment studios, Rebel offered her support, but it was not welcomed by all, leading to conflict.

According to Playfair-Scott, the participants have an opportunity to do what is called, ‘slash’, “which causes any points gained in their next challenge to be slashed in half,” but based on the circumstances she further explained, “we will review that for her upcoming challenge”.

In the end, Lee Not Nice emerged the winner of the Bigga Music Challenge, earning her first win and a spot on the leader board with 100 points. She also received a cash prize of $50,000 from the challenge sponsor, Bigga. Playfair-Scott urged Jamaicans to tune in to see where the show takes the cast, as it continues to introduce new challenges and adventures. She also said that there are opportunities for the freestyle to be used but that viewers would have to “wait and see what happens in the future of ‘The Social House JA’”.

Quite Perry and Chad Luchey tied for second place, both receiving 50 points.

Aired weekly on Wednesdays at 8:00 pm, the show has become a must-watch for anyone interested in the rise of influencers on the island, along with the entertainment and social culture of Jamaicans she said. The show features a variety of exciting content, including challenges, interviews, and behind-the-scenes with some of Jamaica’s most engaging influencers.
