Dynamq takes 2023 Reggae Sumfest Global Sound Clash title

South Sudan selector Dynamq copped the 2023 Reggae Sumfest Global Sound Clash title, outpacing defending champion Bass Odyssey and forcing another Jamaican selector into second place at the Pier One car park in Montego Bay.
Dynamq, whose given name is Kennedy Ongele Lorya, won $1 million from Magnum and $100,000 from Sunshine Snacks.
Code Red took second place, while a Jah Works, a Japanese selector who seemed quite likely to make the first runner-up position, placed third.
Magnum All-Star Soundclash winner, Echo One, exited in the second round.
The African deejay won six of the 10 rounds during the final stage of the electrifying clash, and promised to donate his winnings to the poor.
He easily won the support of the large crowd and could do no wrong, pulling for dub plate after dub plate, featuring some of Jamaica's most iconic artistes including Buju Banton and Tony Rebel.
He broke down and cried openly on stage after he was declared winner.
A Rumble champion, Dynamq made it to the semi-finals in the popular Boom Clash in Jamaica and won the famous War Ina East championship in 2019. He is the current Rebel Salute Sound Clash title holder, and first won that competition in 2020 when he clashed with the veteran Jack Scorpio at the inaugural event.
