St Thomas son, Popcaan will host the third staging of Unruly Fest at Phillips Field Sports Complex in Yallahs tonight.

Unruly Fest, the stage show that puts the spotlight on the parish of St Thomas and its environs, takes place tonight at the Phillips Field Sports Complex in the town of Yallahs.

As the official drink of dancehall, Magnum Tonic Wine took the initiative to power this festival, which is curated by Andre ‘Popcaan’ Sutherland. It showcases a diverse lineup of local and international acts and sees Popcaan welcoming fellow St Thomas native, Skillibeng, alongside I-Wayne, and one of dancehall’s newest sensations, Najeeri. Also on the lineup is New York rapper, Fivio Foreign, who has songs such as City of God’s, Hello and the Nicki Minaj-featured We Go Up in his catalogue.

The annual festival returns for the first time since 2019, after a hiatus due to the pandemic, and anticipation is high as there will be other surprise guest appearances that will undoubtedly add excitement and spontaneity to the event.

In true Magnum fashion, the brand is ensuring that patrons have the ultimate experience. As such, potential patrons have been signing up for a chance to win VIP/All Access passes to the event. This also includes a meet-and-greet with the headline act, Popcaan.

Magnum Tonic Wine’s Marketing Manager Pavel Smith shared that “Unruly Fest is fast becoming a staple event, especially for the people of St Thomas, throughout its three-year lifespan. Magnum is thrilled to be a part of this incredible event. We anticipate an excellent production that celebrates Jamaican culture and music for what it is. We know that this festival is one that tries to unite its audience through our love of music and entertainment, so we’re truly looking forward to an incredible night.”

Geared towards raising funds for Popcaan’s foundation, proceeds from the show will go towards his annual Christmas and back-to-school treats. Additionally, residents of the parish who are in need of financial support will be aided with such, just in time for the holidays.

Entry into the event sees tickets prices divided in three tiers – general, VIP and VVIP.

“The festival promises to be a noteworthy one, so patrons should come out, sip on Magnums throughout the night and take in the amazing talents to be displayed Friday night in St Thomas,” Smith urged.
