“You will not find a next line-up like this in years to come,” that’s the promise from Sting promoter, Isaiah Laing, as he gets ready to open the gates for the 40th anniversary staging of Sting tonight.

Ten artistes, dubbed ‘Sting giants’, are expected to dominate the stage including Bounty Killer, Tanya Stephens, Macka Diamond, Anthony B, Spragga Benz, Turbulence, Capleton, Fantan Mojah, Bugle, and Tommy Lee Sparta.

Laing is confident that the show will deliver on performances and clashes.

“[Fans can expect] great performances by all the artistes that have been booked, everybody wants to be the ‘super giant’ at the end of the night’s performances,” he said. “Everyone will be coming with their A-game to make Sting the success it has been over the last 40 years.”

The Sting boss says he expects “big surprise performances from Kyodi and Fully Bad” and artistes not on the line-up.

“All who are not booked will come through because Sting is the show that happens every year and because it is in its 40th year, the artistes will be coming to show their support,” said Laing.

In a recent interview with THE WEEKEND STAR, he spoke of the event hosting a possible “four the hard way clash”. “I know that I have a clash with Kyodi and Fully Bad plus their opponent, Honormosity, who is also booked, will be looking to make his entry for the war,” he said.

In a surprising turn of events, both Kyodi and Fully Bad who initially were expected to clash against Love My Life artiste, Demarco, will now possibly be faced with a doubleheader warfare with another surprise guest which Laing promised to unleash on the night.

When questioned about having regrets about his last year clash duo, Queenie and Amari and concerns about repeating the same mistake, the ex-policeman said there will be strict orders set in place and he can only deliver on the supporters’ demands.

“Last year I never wanted a Queenie and Amari clash but the people demanded it, so I had to because I always facilitate the people’s wishes. A lot of people were saying ‘a stupid thing dat and Sting shouldn’t do this’ but I have zero regrets. Some people are just too serious, people want likkle laughter sometimes suh yuh have to give them; the show has different compartments for everyone,” he stated.

Laing said the battleground at Jamworld for his new and established acts would be ready and that he anticipates a “bumper to bumper” crowd.
