On Sunday, June 30, Kingston Creative Artwalk will feature pieces from emerging artists, providing them with a platform to showcase their work, along with crochet classes, pottery painting, a ‘paint off’ by Sherwin-Williams, and live performances by Jay Edge and Ecina, all set to take place at Water Lane in downtown Kingston.

Patrons will enjoy works from the Edna Manley Final Year Exhibition, curated by Miriam Smith, and experience an exclusive downtown bus tour to visit the Tivoli Mural Project and Camille Chedda’s new sculpture in Parade Gardens.

“Many people have yet to experience Tivoli’s beauty and historical significance. With this being our first-ever exclusive tour, we hope to bring patrons on a culturally enlightening experience that aims to put a new lens on the space. We want to take this even further by bringing art to the people and getting them involved through hands-on classes. We have a line-up of different classes scheduled for this art walk and we encourage everyone to sign up and learn and appreciate the arts,” said Deputy Director of Kingston Creative Janet Crick.

Additionally, patrons can join an Interactive Chalk Mural session or take guided tours of murals, the music museum, and the National Gallery of Jamaica. Throughout the event, patrons will be entertained by live performances from community artists at Climate Change Park, and Parade Gardens.

“Visual art comes in many forms, and with Kingston Creative’s Artwalk, we’re not only showcasing talents but also inviting patrons to engage in the different activities at the art walk. Art is about self-expression, and the beauty of it is that it allows everyone to create their unique interpretations. Red Stripe Flavours brand strongly advocates for individuals to express their talents, and so we invite everyone to show their support for the art walk,” shared Red Stripe Flavours brand manager Jodi-Ann Campbell.

The Kingston Creative Artwalk is in partnership with Main Event Entertainment Group, Catherine’s Peak, the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), and Red Stripe Flavours. Patrons will be treated to an engaging paint and sip session with artist Dan Thompson, courtesy of Red Stripe Flavours. They are also encouraged to explore and support the artistic creations at the artisan village and indulge in various delicious Jamaican cuisines offered by vendors.
