A man who has lived in a cave for 20 years got the coronavirus jab as soon as he learned about the pandemic.

Panta Petrovic retreated to the unusual home as he wanted a quieter life and never knew about the global health crisis until he made a rare visit to his former hometown in Serbia.

Petrovic decided to get vaccinated as soon as he knew about the devastation that the virus was causing.

He told AFP: "It [the virus] does not pick. It will come here, to my cave, too."

Petrovic explained that he wants three doses of the Covid jab and "doesn't understand the fuss" made by those who are opposed to the vaccine.

He said: "I want to get all three doses, including the extra one.

"I urge every citizen to get vaccinated, every single one of them."
