Queen’s Platinum Jubilee memorabilia being sold due to spelling error
Plates and mugs made to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee are being sold as collector's items due to a spelling mistake.
The commemorative crockery – which was produced in China – marks the 95-year-old monarch's 70 years by honouring her “Platinum Jubbly”.
The website, Wholesale Clearance, stated that the dishes were meant to be in stores in the UK in time for the June celebration but they were pulled when the mistake was spotted. They suggest that fans of the classic '80s BBC sitcom could be perfect purchasers if they had a spare $43,817.40 and room for 10,800 pieces of china. The listing reads: "So if you are a fan of the Queen and Del Boy ... two birds with one stone.”
