Too much time on social media can ruin your sex life
Experts have claimed that men who get hooked on scrolling the sites find it harder to perform between the sheets while female scrollers have a lower libido.
The Portuguese researchers found that both sexes found it more difficult to orgasm if they spent a "problematic" amount of time on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
The experts quizzed more than 1,000 people on their sex lives and time spent on social media services to establish the results.
Dr Rui Miguel Costa, of the Instituto Universitario in Lisbon, said: "Ironically, using social media very frequently might make one feel more isolated from others – sometimes from the partner.
"If one feels emotionally distanced from the partner, sexual function is more likely to be impaired."
The experts are worried that social media can interrupt daily activities such as sleep and work, with Dr Costa encouraging individuals to limit their use.
