Modern humans should mimic cavemen if they wish to live longer

Scientists think that people need to become more like their ancestors in the way that they move and socialise with friends.

British experts suggest that cavemen didn't suffer from modern issues such as heart disease and poor mental health because they had healthier diets and got more exercise while hunting for food.

Researchers from the University of East London and Nottingham Trent University explained: "We can benefit from moving more like hunter-gatherers. Squatting and getting up and down from the ground mimic how they'd move when foraging for food.

"These movements may add years to your life."

They added: "Making time to socialise, focusing on getting more plants in our diets and moving more often are all things we can do daily to look after our health.
