WLI brunch offers delicous offerings
It was a delicious affair at the fundraiser organised by the Women's Leadership Initiative, dubbed 'BFF Summer Fashion Brunch'.
Held last Sunday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, the ballroom was transformed into a fashion runway to showcase the wares of some of Jamaica's most creative designers and boutiques - Signatures, Bohemian Belle, Heather Laine, Courtney Washington, Karmen's Kollection, Flirt Boutique and Ammars.
But another main event of the day was the delicious fare on offer. Starting off with decadent pumpkin soup, patrons helped themselves to the offerings at the food stations boasting entree, salad, beef and pastry, all prepared by the Pegasus hotel.
Entree included rice and peas, jerked chicken, barbecued pig's tail, vegetable lasagna and red snapper fillet with tropical salsa.
This was accompanied by a beautifully decorated salad bar which included Appleton and mild rum plantain salad, honey and cucumber salad, and pasta salad with bacon bits.
There was also a special station for the juicy roast beef with peppercorn crust served with red wine reduction.
To top it off was a dessert section with all the sweet treats one could desire - bread and butter pudding, lemon and caramelised honey tart, mango and passion fruit cheese.
It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and all for a worthy cause.
