Candy Craze Candy Bar and Creamery is a haven of happiness filled with sweets and treats. Catering to all your confectionery cravings, it features a variety of premium delights for everyone. Food stopped by their new location at Progressive Plaza, 24-28 Barbican Road, Kingston, and upon arrival, it felt like we stepped into a magical dreamland. The staff instantly made us feel at home with their cheery welcome chant. It was hard to miss the brightly coloured interior, decorated with colourful embellishments of ice cream, lollipops, and candy icons on the walls.

Chief Executive Officer Melanie Levy created the brand in hopes of bringing a little happiness to every customer, telling us that good energy and celebrating happiness is what her enterprise is all about. “Candy Craze is a place where kids and the whole family can come enjoy a lively [experience] full of colour and energy,” she said.

Levy shared that another intention behind her enterprise was to offer a unique experience that she had not seen locally. “I travelled a lot, and I used to love going to candy stores abroad because it would always makes me feel happy.” She continued, “I wanted to bring that same fun environment to Jamaica because there is nothing like it. I felt like there was no place in Jamaica where you can get a good assortment of candy, and the ability to mix and match candy was appealing to me.”

The company has been in business for seven years and has another location at 12 West Kings House Road in Kingston. Sharing her reasons for opening a new location, Levy told Food, “I’ve always wanted to open at this location. I got a great opportunity, and I decided to jump on it.”

Whether you want personalised options, to customise and mix and match your own candy; have the Candy Craze staff create cold stone slab-prepared ice cream in dairy and non-dairy options, or have trendy non-alcoholic mocktail infused with dry ice that bubbles up, there are many delicious treats for a sweet tooth at Candy Craze. Coming by soon? Levy says they are working on another sweet surprise featuring cookie sandwich sundaes.

To make lockdown more sweet than sour, the company is bringing a piece of happiness to your home. “We are offering two different options in our lockdown special, ice cream options, which come with a quart-size, three waffle cones and three toppings for $3,506. There are also candy options, which come with eight ounces of sweet and sour candy and eight ounces of chocolate for $3,672,” Levy stated, adding that it is a sweet treat for the whole family. There are even plans in the works for a delivery service to make it easier for customers to get their sweet treasures wherever they are.
