Fit 4 Life | ‘Twas an intense Boot Camp with Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn
Fitness guru Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn showed why she is one of Jamaica's world-renowned Olympians on Saturday, when she took The Gleaner's Fit 4 Life team and guests through an intense boot camp that left everyone sweat-drenched, with every muscle in their body begging for mercy.
Starting at 6 a.m. at her state-of-the-art Life Fit Training Centre on Red Hills Road, St Andrew, even the most seasoned fitness buff had to grit their teeth to endure the hour-long session.
Thankfully, when it was all over, Fit 4 Life's fitness coach Marvin Gordon took the participants through a series of stretches to loosen up and relax those aching muscles.
After a short break and cool down, where participants got to sample treats from sponsors Foska Oats and Blue Diamond Almond Milk, Gordon tested each person's fitness endurance with a series of challenges that were not for the weak-hearted.
Of course, only the fittest of the fittest survived, earning prizes like gym membership at Life Fit, gift baskets from Chas E. Ramson, Active Fitness bands from Asafa Powell, Fit 4 Life T-shirts, and Gleaner-branded merchandise for winning each challenge.
Indeed, it was a fabulous morning and a perfect way to start the Saturday.
Over the next 11 weeks, look out for The Gleaner's Fit 4 Life team coming your way on a Saturday morning. Come join us as we journey to a fitter life.
This Saturday, we head to Jacks Hill Community Centre, Jacks Hill Road, St Andrew to work out with the St Matthews Walkers.
