Fit 4 Life | It was indeed Outdoor Madness with TrainFit
If you missed Saturday morning's Outdoor Madness with The Gleaner's Fit 4 Life team and the TrainFit Club, then you definitely missed one of the best workouts of your life.
Fitness guru Stokely Rose and the TrainFit crew weren't kidding when they promised that it was going to be the workout of all workouts to truly test your fitness level.
And that they did.
Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton led the charge of the full-house crew, including teams from Jamaica Moves, Body By Kurt, UCT Steppas, and countless others at the In Motion Gym at Shortwood Teachers' College, St Andrew.
Following the warm-up session, it was straight into the 'Outdoor Madness' - a four-series boot camp circuit, which featured: leg, chest and core with fitness trainer Chilly Peart from In Motion Gym; boxing fitness with Contender champion Sakima Mullings and team; intense cardio with fitness trainer Morgan Howell from TrainFit Club; and an obstacle boot camp with the man himself, Stokely Rose.
Master Arthur Barrows, president of the Jamaica Taekwon-Do Association, then took the full turnout of participants through a series of self-defence lessons.
And yet it still wasn't over.
Four intense challenges from each of the circuits in the Outdoor Madness were up next, with some great prizes up for grabs.
Challenge winners earned prizes such as Active fitness band from Asafa Powell, a phone and phone credits from FLOW, gift baskets from sponsors Foska Oats and Blue Diamond Almond Milk, Fit 4 Life T-shirts, Jamaica Moves T-shirts, free health evaluation from Advantage Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, TrainFit membership, and Gleaner-branded merchandise.
Indeed, the Gleaner's Fit 4 Life fitness coach Marvin Gordon had promised that at the end of the morning session everyone would have to crawl to their car, and he and the TrainFit team and special guests really kept that promise.
Throughout the morning, participants guzzled endless bottles of water, courtesy of Fit 4 Life sponsor, WATA.
And the hot, delicious bowls of sponsor Foska Oats' new line of instant porridge, available in various flavours, were more than welcome, as were the packets of Blue Diamond Almond, another sponsor.
Participants also got handouts with nutrition and exercise tips, courtesy of Fit 4 Life.
The TrainFit Club certainly knows how to work every inch of your body. Double thumbs up to Stokely and crew.
