At nearly 32 years old, Alteman Pryce decided he was going to take on The Gleaner's Fit 4 Life 12-Week Lifestyle/Fitness Challenge. Though the competition had started weeks earlier, on September 6, Pryce set an ambitious goal for himself - aiming to lose 50 pounds in under two months.

Well, he's not quite there yet, but Pryce managed to lose a massive 21 pounds to finish ahead of the pack.

While moving from 234 pounds to 213 in such a short period is impressive, it's not enough for the service delivery coordinator from FLOW Jamaica. Pryce will keep chasing his goal and he does so with the added motivation of having topped the 12-week challenge. And the one-year membership at Life Fit Training Centre he won for himself should help him reach that goal.

Pryce is basking in his newfound fitness.

"I became fitter and am now able to take on the day-to-day challenges and tasks much faster," he told The Gleaner.

He is counting running up stairs and completing obstacle boot camps among the tasks he now takes on with ease.

Pryce also had high praises for his fitness club the Body By Kurt Walking Group and trainer Kurt Dunn.
