Drink water cold

Researchers have found that persons who drank eight to 12 eight-ounce glasses of ice cold water per day had a higher metabolic rate than those who drank water at room temperature.

Your body may burn a few calories heating the cold water to your core temperature, noted Madelyn Fernstrom, PhD, founder and director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Weight Management Center in the United States.

Though the extra calories you burn drinking a single glass of cold water doesn't amount to much, making it a habit can add up to pounds lost with essentially zero additional effort. It is recommended to drink one or two sips of cold water and let your body adapt first, and then gradually drink the rest.
