Caribbean Medical Devices expo to highlight healthcare across the region

The innovative initiative geared towards marketing healthcare in Jamaica and the Caribbean, Caribbean Medical Devices Exhibition (CME), will be held this Friday at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.

CME is the culmination of Medical Link’s annual symposium week, where close to 300 medical practitioners will receive training and information on new therapies and strategies in neonatal respiratory ventilation, advance wound care approaches, dialysis systems and infection control.

The event will feature booths from several participants, as well as seminars and hands-on training sessions.

CME was conceptualised to be the healthcare connection platform for the Caribbean region. It will bring together international medical devices and disposables manufactures, service providers and systems, with healthcare professionals, administrators and policy makers under one roof. It is intended to provide an environment of exposure, education and development.

End users will meet directly with manufacturers and be exposed to new and emerging technologies which will benefit the much needed improvement in healthcare in the region.

The show will also focus on the ‘business’ of healthcare and its improvement. Manufacturers will provide information on how new technologies and therapies can improve economic efficiency in the sector.

Locally, there has been a major increase in the establishment of not just private medical practices, but the emergence of new surgical centres with a number of plans for centres focusing on medical tourism, well under way.  

The CME will provide the environment for direct exchanges between leading international manufacturers, end users and administrators.

Open to the public free of charge, key decision makers in the health sector in Jamaica and the Caribbean will be in attendance.
