MEDICAL RESEARCH is essential for the advancement of healthcare and the development of new treatments for diseases. It plays a crucial role in improving the lives of people around the world and saving countless lives.

One of the main benefits of medical research is the discovery of new treatments for diseases. Through research, scientists and medical professionals are able to identify new drugs, therapies, and procedures that can effectively treat or even cure diseases.

For example, research has led to the development of new cancer treatments, such as targeted therapy and immunotherapy, which have greatly improved the survival rate of cancer patients.

Prospective Research Innovations Inc, one of the fastest-growing medical research companies in the United States, has opened its third medical research facility in California. The organisation’s founder and chief executive officer, Omar Barnett, is a Jamaican who has over 20 years’ experience in medical research.

Barnett’s vision is to establish Prospective Research Innovations Inc as a global name that will help to improve the quality of life for people, especially those living with chronic conditions.

“Our team has worked on 30 to 50-plus medical studies, and I have seen quite a handful that comes onto the market. Before medications are approved for patients in the general public, we have to gather information to ascertain whether it is safe, and its efficacy. We then have to review all the data to see if it is something that is beneficial for patients,” Barnett said.

According to Barnett, medical research also plays a crucial role in the prevention of diseases. By understanding the causes of diseases, researchers can develop ways to prevent them from occurring in the first place. For example, research on the link between smoking and lung cancer has helped to reduce the number of people who smoke and has greatly reduced the number of deaths from lung cancer.

Medical research, he said, is needed so that we have not just the medications and medical equipment we have, but so that we can create better ones in the future.

“Most medications right now have lists of adverse events that may be generated from that current medication. However, when a pharmaceutical company sees this, they say they want to help these patients. So, we could add another medication that may help counteract those side effects, in turn stabilising that patient’s general health, well-being and symptoms,” Barnett said.

Reduce healthcare costs

Medical research, he said, also helps to reduce healthcare costs. By developing new treatments and therapies, research can help to reduce the need for expensive hospital stays and surgeries. It can also help to reduce the need for long-term care, which can be costly for both patients and their families.

Barnett added that medical research plays a crucial role in improving the lives of people around the world and saving countless lives. It is important to note, he said, that research is essential to find out what treatments work best, and more specifically, what treatments work best for what patient.

It can also provide important information about how effective a medical intervention is and its possible adverse effects. These interventions include drugs, vaccines, medical devices, and others.

Over the years, this organisation has been finding solutions to illnesses that patients are currently suffering from, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, asthma, ulcer colitis, hypertension and knee pain.

With doctors that are committed to patient safety and GCP compliance, they ensure study is conducted ethically and with the highest quality for all study patients. Prospective Research Innovations also conducts research with the utmost emphasis on patient safety and study compliance as they work to exceed current medicine for a better life for their patients.

The organisation continues to expand its operations, as Barnett believes medical research is essential for the advancement of healthcare and the development of new treatments for diseases. Prospective Research Innovations Inc has now opened its third research facility in the United States, and plans are way advanced for a similar facility in Jamaica.

“We are currently in negotiations to branch out to different states; New York, and Oklahoma. That’s our vision for the United States. While for Jamaica, we have a vision to implement PRI Celestial Wellness. We are still in talks with investors to partner with us,” Barnett said.

“At PRI Celestial Wellness we will have the capability of having all the advanced medications at our facility. We are also in talks with local hospitals that want to have PRI Celestial Wellness medical research facilities into their hospitals,” Barnett added.
