Teen charged for killing of 11-month old Omar Lindo
THE TEENAGER who was held in connection with the shooting death of 11-month-old Omar Lindo on Charles Street, Kingston on Monday, April 6, has been charged.
He is booked to appear in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, April 22.
The teenager was nabbed by the Kingston Central Police in Courage District, Gordon Town, St Andrew, on Saturday, April 11.
The 11-month-old was shot and killed by gunmen who were chasing a man on Chancery Lane.
According to the grandmother of the child, Lindo was killed while his mother was bathing him in their yard.
It is understood that the shooting resulted from a gang feud. Reports are that a man from one gang was chased by members of another during a shoot-out. The man ran into the yard and the gunmen followed.
An older child was also shot and injured during the exchange of gunfire.
