GSAT joy for Manchester students

Mandeville, Manchester:
Overwhelmed with emotion was the perfect description of several primary-school students in Manchester who yesterday received their Grade Six Achieve-ment Test (GSAT) results and found out where they would be going to high school come September.
With a score of 100 in all subject areas, Bryanna Barnaby of the Mandeville Primary and Junior High School was the happiest of the lot.
"I was so excited when I heard of my results, my sister told me that mommy bawl and fell down," she said, laughing heartily.

Moving on to her father's and sister's alma mater, Bryanna can't wait to start Manchester High School.
Grade-six teacher at the institution, Faith Grant, is more than happy that all her 44 students passed the examination.
As The Gleaner travelled to Yabnel Care Centre, sounds of excitement could be heard from the driveway as school placements were announced.
"We have received great passes and we are so elated, we are very proud of the students and I can proudly say they have exceeded even their own expectations," said grade-six teacher Christina Tulloch.
Kryschina Fearon, who will be heading to deCarteret College in September, said she was shocked and excited.
"I was so surprised, I prayed and studied hard and hoped for the best, and it worked out ... . When daddy hears, he's gonna hug me up and give me a big grin," she said.
For Aaliyah Parchment, Manchester High has always been on the top of her list and she's glad she made it.
"I got 100 in math and 90s in all other areas. My nights of staying up late have paid off and I'm heading to my first choice," she said.
