PHOTOS: Expect delays as smoke blankets sections of Vineyards leg of Highway 2000

The operators of Highway 2000 say motorists should expect delays along the Vineyards leg because of thick smoke blanketing parts of the roadway.

The Vineyards leg of the Highway 2000 runs from Kingston to Sandy Bay, Clarendon. 

Communications manager at Jamaican Infrastructure Operators, Nicole Kuster, says two bush fires which are causing the smoke have been burning since about 11 o’clock this morning.

She also told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that fire-fighters are still battling the blaze.

Kuster says vehicles are being allowed to pass through the smoke but the process is slow.
