Dennis Morrison to act as Appeals Court president

Court of Appeal judge Justice Dennis Morrison is to be sworn in on Monday as acting president of the Court of Appeal.
Morrison will be sworn in by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen at King's House in St Andrew.
He will be acting in place of Justice Seymour Panton, who, The Gleaner understands, is on pre-retirement leave.
Morrison's appointment will take effect on September 21.
He has been on the Court of Appeal bench since 2008.
Prior to the appointment, he practised law for more than 25 years.
Morrison was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1994.
He is a former head of the Litigation Department at prominent law firm DunnCox and is a former lecturer at the Norman Manley Law School.
Morrison currently sits on the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal and served on the Belize Court of Appeal from 2004 to March 2015.
