Portland shop robbed of back-to-school goods
Port Antonio, Portland:
A business operator in Port Antonio was left angry after thieves broke into his shop through the roof and stole goods valued at approximately $600,000.
According to a police source, the thief, or thieves, broke into ZH Bashment and Wholesale, located at 16 West Street, some time between Thursday night and Friday morning.
Entry was gained by cutting a hole through the roof of the building along the busiest street in Port Antonio.
Among the goods stolen were back-to-school items, including school bags, pencils, sharpeners, geometry sets, erasers, rulers, shoes, socks, and hardcover exercise books. Additionally, perfumes, lotions, body washes, along with an undetermined sum of money were also stolen.
Over the past three months, two other business places nearby - a pharmacy and a supermarket - were robbed by armed thugs in broad daylight.
The Portland police are investigating.
