Digicel is promising to make six customers millionaires this Christmas through its 'Merry Millions' promotion.

With more than 42,000 customers to share its $20 million prize pot, the telecoms firm said it is aiming to "spread Christmas cheer" to as many customers as possible during the festive season.

Each week, one customer will win J$1 million in cash, plus free data for life, while others will win free credit, data plans, smartphones and other great prizes, Digicel said.

"Receiving cash is on the ultimate Christmas wish list for most Jamaicans this season, so we're making sure that every Digicel customer gets at least six chances to take home J$1 million," said Michelle Anderson, director of distribution and retail at Digicel.

"We're very happy to be able to reward our customers this festive season, and because life is full of surprises, we urge customers to look out for more exciting developments with this promotion."

She added: "In addition to the cash and prizes that customers will have a chance to win this Christmas, we're going to continue delivering on our promise to deliver best value to customers all across Jamaica, with a number of great deals on handsets and other products during the holiday season."

'Merry Millions' is open to all new and existing customers, including prepaid and postpaid Digicel customers, as well as Digicel Play customers.

To qualify, customers will have to top up with J$200 or more, activate a two-day data plan or higher, talk for 10 minutes or more on their postpaid phone or pay their 4G Broadband bill on time and in full.

The promotion, which officially launches today, will run until December 31.
