Traffic changes for Half-Way Tree-Oxford roads intersection

Effective today, the National Works Agency (NWA) has implemented changes to the traffic flow at the intersection of Half-Way Tree Road and Oxford Road, St Andrew, aimed at improving and streamlining pedestrian and vehicular movement at the busy intersection.

The NWA said that the middle through lane on Half-Way Tree Road would be modified to accommodate a right-turn lane only. That change allows for two exclusive right-turn lanes on to Oxford Road.

The FLOW entrance/exit will be controlled by traffic signals, the NWA said, instructing persons leaving and entering the premises to obey the signals.

Persons making a left turn from Half-Way-Tree Road on to Oxford Road must yield to pedestrians using the pedestrian crossing and motorists making a right turn on to Oxford Road.

"Motorists are advised to obey all the new markings, especially those delineating the lanes," the NWA said in a news release issued yesterday.
