Simpson Miller might bare integrity report in House

Up to late yesterday, speaker of the House of Representatives, Pearnel Charles, did not receive instructions from the leader of government business or his opposition counterpart regarding a proposed statement to be tabled by Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller regarding her submission to the Integrity Commission.
Late last week, the People's National Party, in a terse media release, said Simpson Miller would, this week, table a statement in Parliament that would speak "specifically and decisively to integrity issues and her own report to the Integrity Commission".
Asked if he was aware of the proposed tabling of such a statement in Parliament this week, Charles told The Gleaner that he had not been informed as yet about the opposition leader's plans to unveil information about her integrity submission.
"I have no indication from the leader of government business or from the leader of opposition business or from her about any statement," Charles said.
When The Gleaner contacted Leader of Opposition Business Phillip Paulwell for comment, he indicated that he did not have details about how Simpson Miller would reveal her integrity reports.
He had pledged to provide information on the issue but could not be reached late yesterday.
Last week, Prime Minister Andrew Holness showed sections of the media annual reports he has filed with the Integrity Commission since 2007.
Holness vowed to introduce legislation to force other political leaders to make public their submissions to the Integrity Commission.
