Two boys suspected to have drowned at Lyssons Beach

Up to late last night the St Thomas police were still trying to retrieve the bodies of two boys who are believed to have drowned at Lyssons Beach in the parish.
The boys are presumed to be ages 11 and 13 years old.
Very little is known about the circumstances under which they disappeared.
However, the police believe they drifted out into the sea on a piece of log and got into difficulty.
*NOTE: A photograph which was earlier attached to this story might have given the impression that the incident happened on the section of the Lysson Beach operated by the University of the West Indies (UWI). It in fact happened at the public beach and not the UWI-run facility.
