Murderous rampage continues out west - Two children among three killed in Hanover, two brothers murdered in St Bess

Murder and mayhem continue to cast an eerie shadow over western Jamaica as another five persons, including two children, were slaughtered on Wednesday night in the ongoing rampage that has transformed the region into a killing zone.
In the first of the three incidents, at approximately 10:45 p.m., armed thugs kicked open the door of 34-year-old Hopeton Lee, who resided in Williamsfield, near Dias, in Hanover, and shot him multiple times.
One-, five-year-old killed
They then went to another location and opened fire on a wooden house. Siblings one-year-old Daquan Davidson and five-year-old Kimona Johnson, who were among the occupants in the house, were killed. The children's mother and two other family members were shot and injured.
In the second incident, at approximately 4 a.m., heavily armed men invaded a house in Retirement, St Elizabeth, slaughtering brothers Oshane Williams, 25, and Sherman Williams, 23, who the police said were renowned gangsters.
"What happened to them is not surprising as they are major players in a criminal network that is creating problems in the parish," a police officer, who asked not to be identified, told The Gleaner. "I am not going to shed any tears for them. They got exactly what they deserved."
The brothers are the younger siblings of former gang leader Dwight Williams, who spearheaded a reign of terror in the parish prior to being killed last year. The brothers were said to have had a hand in vices such as the illicit lottery scam, drug smuggling, and the trading of illegal firearms.
Accidental shooting
In addition to those killed, six persons, including two policemen, have been left nursing bullet wounds. The policemen were injured in an incident at the Coral Gardens Police Station in Montego Bay. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Marlon Nesbeth, the commanding officer for St James, a policeman, who was taking a civilian, who had been involved in a fight with another civilian, into custody, stumbled and fell, which caused his gun to discharge a single round. He said the bullet struck both police personnel.
