Unwavering, multisectoral support for the 29th commissioner of police, George Quallo, is integral in taming the rampant crime monster, said Stokely Fagan, LASCO-Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Police Officer of the Year 2017-2018.

Speaking with The Gleaner in his Bay Farm Villa community yesterday, Fagan said that there is no room for disunity as Quallo, 58, takes charge of the 150-year-old JCF.

"I want complete unification in the force. We need to be moving on one tangent to get this thing right. My goal is for everyone across all local sectors, in addition to our international partners, to support Mr Quallo. Give him your faith and partnership so we can implement new strategies for some of our hardest-hit areas, such as Area One in St James that has recorded the most murders so far in the year."

Fagan reiterated that the bottom line of every action of Jamaican citizens should be that of bettering Brand Jamaica from an international viewpoint.

"We have a country that is loaded with potential. The sad thing is, the negatives get more highlight than the actual good which is taking place everywhere. Though policing is vital, citizens also have an integral role to play with ensuring safety, positivity and overall growth throughout our island."

Fagan also took the opportunity to commend his colleagues who he says often go unrecognised for the laudable services rendered to country while encouraging others to follow suit while serving the people.
