- Consider using summonses to bring persons before the courts instead of arresting for every charge.

- Get down to ground level in finding solutions to crime by decentralising the system and involving the community and stakeholders.

- Revisit the notion that only certain types of cases can be granted station bail.

- Change the legislation so the superintendent in the parish is authorised to offer bail.

- If more people are offered bail, it will free up more time for trials instead of processing people who are in custody.

- Reintroduce civics at the high-school level, so there is greater sensitisation to the need for every citizen of this country to participate in the justice system.

- Consider having the police prosecute cases in the Parish Court as is done in many other Caribbean countries.
