More than 100 works from some of Jamaica's leading artists will be auctioned at The Rotary Club of Downtown Kingston's Annual Art Auction on Sunday at the Knutsford Court Hotel in St Andrew.

The event called Wine & Cheese PLUS Jazz & Art is an important fund raiser for the Rotary Club of Downtown Kingston.

This year, a major project for the Club is the construction of a greenhouse for the Alpha Institute, to aid in the agricultural education of the boys enrolled in that programme.

Over the years, funds raised from this event have provided assistance and support for a variety of social initiatives - primarily in downtown Kingston such as the communities of Rae Town, Denham Town, Central Kingston and others.

In addition to being an important fund raiser for the Club, the art auction has also become a much anticipated annual event for art lovers. The pieces to be auctioned include works from Barrington Watson, Alphanso Blake, Alexander Cooper, Osmond Watson, Paul Blackwood, Albert Huie, Webster Campbell and Roy Reid - to name a few.

Attendees can expect an assortment of exotic cheeses and sip on wine as they decide on the pieces that capture their hearts. More than 100 works have been collected from some of Jamaica's leading artists as well as some young, upcoming and exciting new talent.

Cocktails will begin at 6pm and the main event, the auction, is expected to get going at approximately 7 p.m.
