Too many CDF meetings - Azan

Richard Azan

Richard Azan, member of parliament for North West Clarendon, wants a reduction in the weekly meetings of the Constituency Development Fund Committee of the Houses of Parliament.

"Why [do] we have to meet every week?" he asked of Chairman Everald Warmington, who explained that this was because of the volume of projects, an answer that did not find favour with the MP who represents the Opposition People's National Party (PNP) in Parliament.

"[So] MPs don't have the time between April and September to put in all the projects?" he further queried. "You have to be dragging out this thing here and you have to be coming here every week for projects? No, man!"

Despite a strong appeal to other committee members Mikael Phillips, Floyd Green, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn and

Dr Dayton Campbell, Azan did not get the required support to effect the change he required.
