Harrison ... There is a question of law in relation to whether Hanna willfully neglected to perform her duty.

Contractor General Dirk Harrison has recommended that the Director of Public Prosecutions pursue criminal investigations against a number of persons in relation to the award of contracts in the St Ann South East constituency represented in Parliament by Lisa Hanna.

The report on the Contractor general’s probe which began in 2015 was tabled in the House of Representatives Tuesday afternoon.

Harrison believes a number of persons made efforts to mislead his office in its investigations and lied about questionable transactions.

Harrison wants the DPP to investigate the actions of the Office of the Member of Parliament, all councillors in the municipal corporation and the contractors involved in the questionable contracts.

Harrison has also recommended an investigation into whether Hanna’s recommendations for the award of contracts to 12 contractors affiliated with the People’s National Party gives rise to a conflict of interest.

He says there is a question of law in relation to whether Hanna wilfully neglected to perform her duty or is guilty of misconduct by acting fraudulently in making recommendations for the award of government contracts to persons employed in her constituency office, and to relatives of persons employed in her constituency office.
