15-year-old girl shot dead in Seaview Gardens

A 26-year-old man is now on the run after allegedly killing a 15-year-old girl at her home in Seaview Gardens, St Andrew, earlier in the afternoon.
It is reported that shortly before 3 p.m. the man, who is said to be a family friend, visited Denise Hume while she was at home with relatives.
An explosion was heard before the man was seen running from the house.
Hume, who would have celebrated her 16th birthday next Wednesday, was later discovered suffering from a gunshot wound to the forehead.
Family members, trying frantically to save her life, rushed her to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to residents, the man who is suspected to have committed the murder did so after the teenager, who attended JosÈ Marti High School, sent him a message that she did not want to be in a relationship with him.
