Wanted four surrender in St James

Four of the eight persons who were listed by the St James police hierarchy on Sunday as most wanted are now in custody, having heeded the police's instruction for them to surrender to the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay by midday on Monday.
The four include brothers Timothy 'Shotta' Spence and Leon Spence of Red Square; Tajay Dixon, as well as the lone female on the list, Fiona Williams, of Grange Pen, St James. The police say the four will be questioned in connection with the incidents for which they were listed as wanted.
"We are pleased that these four have done the right thing by surrendering. They will be questioned and, if needs be, they will be charged, so that they can have their day in court," a senior police officer told The Gleaner yesterday.
"Those who choose to remain on the run will be hunted down because we will not allow them to remain out there committing crimes and causing instability in the parish."
STILL ON THE RUN
The four persons who have ignored the police instruction to turn themselves in are Christopher 'Plank' Boyd, who is wanted for murder; Kiran Gows, wanted for gun-related offences; Christopher Taylor, who is wanted for indecent assault; and Christopher Vassell, who is wanted for sexual assault.
This past Saturday, popular Flanker-based music producer, 27-year-old Kirk 'Wanka' Stevens, who was listed on the previous wanted list and had surrendered to the police, was charged with two counts of murder and one count of wounding in relation to a much-publicised shooting incident along Montego Bay's Elegant Corridor, the tourism belt.
... But main prize 'Ratty' remains on the run
Since the state of public emergency was declared in St James on January 18, in response to the wanton lawlessness, which spawned 335 murders last year and 10 within the first two weeks of this year, several men, who were labelled top-flight violence producers by the police, have been arrested and charged.
Among those arrested are: Kasheen 'Borderline' Lewis, the 20-year-old son of slain St James top-flight gangster Omar 'King Evil' Lewis; and a 15-year-boy of a Flanker address, who has been implicated in several murders, including an incident in proximity to Sangster International Airport.
Despite the successes the security forces have been enjoying in terms of seizing illegal weapons and arresting wanted men, the man many consider the main prize, the notorious Ryan 'Ratty' Peterkin, whose murderous gang has been displaced from their Cambridge-Retrieve stronghold, remains on the run.
