MOCA gets money for public-education campaign

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) yesterday strengthened its partnership with National Integrity Action (NIA) through the signing of a sub-award agreement at the NIA's Holborn Road offices in New Kingston, worth roughly $45 million.

Executive director of NIA, Professor Trevor Munroe, told the media that the organisation has long been advocating for anti-corruption legislation and that an agreement with MOCA was yet another step towards demonstrating its support for the agency and its functions.

The money was made available by the United States Agency for International Development and will ensure the strengthening of MOCA's public-education and capacity-building efforts.

MOCA's Director General Colonel Desmond Edwards expressed gratitude for the grant, and gave assurance of the agency's continued fight against major organised crime and corruption.
