UPDATE: Christiana cop chopped, seriously injured by man said to be mentally unstable

A Manchester-based police corporal is now hospitalised in serious condition after he was chopped by a man in the town of Christiana.
The cop, in his uniform, was driving his service motorcycle along the main road when he was attacked by the machete-wielding man said to be mentally unstable.
A video circulating on social media, shows the traffic cop rushing to get off the bike and running away from the attacker who continued to pursue him.
According to the police, the attacker again attempted to attack the cop, attached to the traffic unit, when he was shot.
A bystander was also shot and injured during the incident.
The injured were all taken to hospital.
The police high command has commend the residents of Christiana for rushing to the assistance of the police corporal.
The High Command says it has launched an investigation into the matter.
