Scores say final farewell to Sandra Brown-Bennett
She played hard and worked even harder, and as relatives and friends filled the Boulevard Baptist Church, St Andrew, to pay their last respects to former Gleaner advertisement executive Sandra Brown-Bennett yesterday, they all agreed that she always did both in fine style.
Brown-Bennett worked with The Gleaner Company for 22 years before succumbing to a long battle with illness on August 6, 2018.
Christopher Barnes, managing director of The Gleaner Company (Media) Ltd, recalled Brown-Bennett being very forthright, very hard-working and extremely generous during those years.
"Sandra practised excellence in everything that she did, she had a meticulous approach to work," said Barnes.
"With Sandra, you always knew where you stood," added Barnes.
Sandra's widower Donald Bennett declared that hers was a life well lived.
"Sandy was full of fun and made those around her so happy. She was a go-getter, an achiever; one who always aimed for the top," said Bennett.
Tribute after tribute alluded to her bravery and her remarkable level of commitment to her family, friends and her clients. Officiating minister, the Reverend Devon Dick, declared that she was able to fulfil her purpose.
"Sandra was a motivator, she was an encourager, she was a giver, always sharing; she was a fighter, never giving up, she was a trendsetter," said Dick.
