A former gang member-turned-Crown witness yesterday testified that accused Fitzroy Scott orchestrated robberies from behind bars as the trial for reputed gang leader Uchence Wilson and his alleged 23 cronies continued at the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.

The witness, who previously testified to transporting gang members to robbery scenes, said that while Scott was in jail, he met a man who told him about a house that the gang could rob in Kellits, Clarendon.

He further testified that the man’s girlfriend lived at the house.

The witness, who is giving testimony via video link, told the court that Scott sent instructions that the girl should not be harmed.

As is the gang’s practice, the former taxi operator said that he, along with alleged gang members Wilson, Sheldon ‘Bella’ Christian, and Lanworth ‘Zeeks’ Geohagen, changed their clothes before going to the house.

The witness said that the alleged gangsters were armed.

When they arrived at the house, the witness said that they noticed that no one was home, and while they were walking around the premises to find the best way to enter the house, they encountered a neighbour who was outside brushing his teeth.

He further stated that they held the neighbour at gunpoint, taking him inside, where they saw a woman.

The witness said that they got hold of the keys to a Toyota Axio on the premises, which the witness drove away from the scene, leaving the other alleged gang members at the house.

According to the witness, Wilson told him that the gang went back to the house on another occasion, where they waited for a male occupant to get home and held him at gunpoint.

“Held him and brought him inside and robbed him and the girl that was living at the house. Dem knock off har door an’ guh inside an’ give har two soft box to mek it look like shi nuh know ‘bout it,” the former gang member said Wilson told him.

He testified that Wilson said they stole another Toyota Axio, which they drove away and dismantled.

The witness testified that the gang also robbed a farm, where accused Michael ‘Judge’ Lamont worked.

The trial continues today.
