The men held in relation to the mowing down of two pedestrians on a sidewalk in Half-Way Tree last week have been charged.

Chad Ingram and George Malcolm both appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday to answer multiple charges arising from the Eastwood Park Road accident.

Ingram pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, fleeing the scene of an accident, and operating a public passenger vehicle (PPV) without a licence or PPV insurance.

He pleaded not guilty to failing to report an accident.

Malcolm, the man hired to drive the taxi, pleaded not guilty to aiding and abetting dangerous driving, failing to report an accident, and operating a PPV without a licence or PPV insurance.

Both men were remanded and will return to court on November 12.

It is reported that when the cab reached in the vicinity of the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre, Ingram swerved to avoid a parked vehicle, mounted the sidewalk, and ploughed into two pedestrians, who have been hospitalised with severe injuries.
