Man allegedly killed by cousin at Valentine’s party in Manchester

CRAIG HEAD, Manchester:
The fatal stabbing of a Manchester farmer, allegedly by his cousin, has jolted Black Lane district in Craig Head, and a close relative of the deceased said the Valentine’s Day party row erupted over a “silly argument”.
According to police reports, 32-year-old farmer Ricardo Bailey, otherwise known as Fred, was stabbed to death by his cousin in a bar after a heated argument shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday.
The stabbing death has left two young children fatherless.
Bailey’s aunt, Juliet Dale, is still in shock that the two men, who she said had never had a major disagreement in the past, got embroiled in a dispute that turned deadly.
“The two of them had an argument in the bar, and the other people in the bar were telling them to calm down. I don’t know if they were drunk, but I hear is a silly argument where one was disrespecting the bartender and the other was defensive, and that was the end,” she told The Gleaner.
“No one was expecting this. Right now, I feel it for his two children that are left behind, and them young. One is probably two years old, and the other is just a few months old, and the mother cannot manage ... .”
Dale said that persons in the bar had tried to temper both men’s rage without success. She remembers her nephew as jovial and loved by everyone in the community.
“I don’t know how we will recover from this. Him nuh trouble people, and me cyaan believe this is the end,” she said.
The accused is reportedly in police custody.
Domestic disputes continue to plague Manchester in 2020. Bailey’s death brings to at least five the number of fatalities that have arisen from domestic disputes this year.
