Clarendonians told to shun panic pranksters

As fears of a fallout from jitters over the spread of COVID-19 threaten Clarendon, May Pen Chamber of Commerce President Winsome Witter said yesterday that the business community had not begun to feel the effects of a slowdown.

Witter emphasised that her members had been urged to practise good hygiene and enact emergency protocols if employees should be quarantined or isolated.

The chamber president said business leaders should shun attempts by mischief makers to cause panic.

“The misinformation is creating unnecessary panic, and as businesses, we need to be level-headed at this time in terms of making crucial decisions going forward,” she said.

“Panicking will not help anything. It will just make a bad situation worse.”
