RJRGLEANER implements cuts owing to impact of COVID-19

THE RJRGLEANER Communications Group says that as a result of the significant negative impact of the economic circumstances caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), it has become necessary to implement a range of measures internally to reduce expenses. These measures include salary reductions across the entire Group including directors, managers and staff, as well as the layoff of 93 workers.

While the entire Group has been impacted negatively, the company’s print operations have been seriously affected both locally and overseas.

In the broadcast division several programmes have also been suspended even as the company introduced a range of new COVID-19-related programmes in education, health and public affairs.

The Group continues to make serious effort in providing strong support to vulnerable groups in Jamaica at this time, even as it takes tough measures internally to realign its business to survive the financial ravages of COVID-19.
