Two-year-old child, parents killed in MoBay crash

A two-year-old child and his parents perished along the Rose Hall main road in St James during a crash on Tuesday night.
The child, who was thrown from the vehicle on impact, was identified as two-year-old Jamara Brown.
His parents have been identified as 40-year-old Mark Brown, a taxi operator of Sun Valley Road in Glendevon, Montego Bay, and his common-law-wife 39-year-old, Tangria Grant, a domestic helper of the same address.
It is reported shortly after 10 p.m, Brown, his son, and his common-law wife were travelling from their home in Montego Bay towards Lilliput.
On reaching a section of the Rose Hall main road in the vicinity of the Hilton Rose Hall Hotel, Brown swerved to avoid a large body of water cause from a broken water main.
The taxi operator lost control of his Grey Nissan AD Wagon motorcar, which ran off the road unto the lawn of the hotel compound, and then slammed into a tree.
Mr Brown and his common-law wife were trapped in the car and died on impact while baby Jamara was thrown from the vehicle.
He died in hospital yesterday.
Since the start of the year, 21 persons have died in 19 crashes in St James.
The Rose Hall main road has accounted for several of these crashes.
