Triple murder rocks St Ann

Up to press time last night, the police were yet to identify the bodies of three men discovered along a lonely road yesterday in Yelland, a community near Watt Town in St Ann.
The bodies appeared to have gunshot wounds and bring to four the number of gun-related homicides in the parish within a week, following a murder last Sunday in Mammee Bay.
Head of the St Ann Police Division, Superintendent Carlos Russell, told The Sunday Gleaner last night that it appears that the men were travelling in a Toyota Corolla motor car on the lonely road when they were ambushed and the vehicle shot up.
Reports reaching The Sunday Gleaner are that passers-by stumbled upon the gruesome scene at about 3 p.m. and notified the police, who arrived shortly after.
Two of the bodies were found in the bullet-riddled car. The police had a hard time retrieving the third, which was found in a gully.
No motive has been established for the murders.
Investigations are ongoing.
The killings come less than a week after four persons were shot, one fatally, in Mammee Bay by unknown assailants.
In that incident last week Sunday, 34-year-old Lance Bird of a Mammee Bay South address, was shot and killed while in a bar with other persons. The incident happened about 1:40 p.m. while patrons were drinking.
Three other persons who were also in the bar were also shot but survived the attack.
