Two killed gangland style in St Elizabeth

Police investigators from Area Three are trying to ascertain the motive behind Tuesday night’s shoot-up at an illegal party in New Town, St Elizabeth, which resulted in the deaths of two men and serious injuries to two others.

Those killed have been identified as 33-year-old Fabian ‘Fabby’ Medley and his close friend, 30-year-old Denworth ‘Mush’ Teape, both of Elim.

The injured men are nursing gunshot wounds in the hospital.

Residents of New Town told The Gleaner on Wednesday that the incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. at a shop where Medley and Teape were among the patrons.

According to reports, two men had got into an altercation outside of the shop earlier in the afternoon.

Later that night, a gunman alighted from a motor vehicle with two others aboard and opened fire on patrons standing along the roadway.

Four persons were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.

Grieving relatives of Medley and Teape described them as law-abiding citizens.

“He (Medley) and Densworth are very close friends, and he was at a car wash which they operated, so I greeted him in the usual manner because we were really close,” Lisa Medley, the sister of Fabian Medley said, recounting the last time she saw him.

Medley is survived by two children, with another on the way.

Iris Rashford, Medley’s grieving mother, struggled to compose herself as she mourned his death.

“Until now mi still can’t believe seh it really happen. Mi still can’t believe seh him gone,” she said.

Mildred Rose, Teape’s mother, was equally distraught. She described Teape as humble, quiet, and not a troublemaker.

Teape was her only child.
