COVID cases, deaths and hospitalisations jump

Jamaica's COVID worry deepened over the weekend with more deaths, hospitalisations and infections across the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, there were three deaths on Saturday.

Latest COVID deaths
1. A 62-year-old female from St Ann
2. A 69-year-old male from St Ann
3. A 30-year-old female from St Ann

Meanwhile, there were 379 new infections with a positivity rate of 37.8 per cent.

Here's the parish breakdown:
Kingston and St Andrew - 69
St Catherine - 63
St Ann - 55
Westmoreland - 51
St James - 43
Manchester - 36
Hanover - 30
St Mary - 10
Clarendon - 7
Trelawny - 6
St Thomas - 5
Portland - 3
St Elizabeth -1

At the same time, hospitalisations have increased.

As at Saturday, 272 people were in a hospital up from 256 a day earlier.

Some 67 patients were moderately ill and 34 critical.
