Homeless persons roaming the Corporate Area will soon get the chance of becoming employed in a programme spearheaded by the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC).
During an interview with The Gleaner after the corporation’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, Kingston Mayor Delroy Williams said that homeless people have been responding to programmes managed by the KSAMC, disclosing that the organisation was on the cusp of finding jobs for that vulnerable group.
“It’s part of this general approach to keep as much of the urban centres within the downtown area clean as possible, so we want to engage them in that, and we have started that process,” said Williams.
“You will hear far more about it this week or no later than next week.”
