DJ Kentucky charged with raping 12-y-o girl

Popular disc jockey DJ Kentucky has been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl at his St James home on August 18, 2022.
The DJ, whose given name is Shawn Stewart, was charged by detectives attached to Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse on Thursday. He is set to appear in the St James Parish Court next week.
Police reports are that on the day in question, the child, who is known to Stewart, reportedly approached him and asked him to assist her with funds to purchase a birthday gift for her mother.
It is further alleged that Stewart agreed to give the minor some cash, but insisted that she follow him to his home.
On arrival, Stewart reportedly started to make advances at the minor. He allegedly then forcibly removed her clothes and had sex with her against her will.
Investigators allege that Stewart then gave the child some money before taking her back in his motor car to downtown Montego Bay, where he dropped her off.
The child immediately informed her parents, who, in turn, made a report to the police. She was then taken to a medical facility.
Efforts by the police to locate Stewart since then failed.
On Thursday, he turned himself in to the Freeport police in the company of his attorney.
He was questioned and subsequently charged.
