AFTER MONTHS of being taunted by the hunter green ‘coming soon’ sign on the fence of their building on Waterloo Road in Kingston, yesterday Krispy Kreme gave the Corporate Area a taste of what is to come with their opening.

Armed with a truck filled with their trademark goodies yesterday afternoon, Krispy Kreme officials treated passersby with boxes of their signature glazed donuts.

Distributing a box of six donuts and a flyer, on the ground officials announced the long-awaited grand opening of the donut chain will be held on June 3.

Seemingly unable to contain her excitement at the announcement, Vanessa Brown told The Gleaner: “You know how long mi a wait pon dem fi open! So when mi see pon dem twitter say dem did ago out here a di fastest mi boom flick come.”

She said since the announcement that the pastry chain was coming to Jamaica, she has had google alerts on all Krispy Kreme news.

“No man, I love them for real enuh. Every day mi and mi friend dem talk bout how we ago fat after them open.”

The announcement that the pastry giant was making its way to Kingston came last December, after inking a deal with the Restaurants Associates Limited.

Staying tight-lipped about the rest of the day’s offerings, they told The Gleaner, “Just come, the day is going to be filled with prizes and surprises.”
