The incident occurred while the victims were at the location carrying out repair works.

The gunman reportedly escaped on foot.

When The Gleaner arrived, bloodstains were visible at the entrance and inside the home.

The military and the police were on hand, combing the area for clues.

Residents appeared shocked by the incident and questioned what could have led to the attack.

A sibling of the injured woman told The Gleaner that she was responding well and their family was hoping for the best.

“She got a shot to her head. She is talking and responding to the doctors … . They were only doing a little work on the house. From week start, they were working there,” said the sibling.

The Gleaner understands that the house was purchased a few years ago and repairs were being done to change the aesthetics with a view to earning from a possible Airbnb business model.

Investigations are ongoing.
